PostHeaderIcon Cure for Panic Attacks/Ideas?

I suffer from panic attacks. if you don’t know what they are, then then you pry shouldn’t be here, anyway, but if you want to know, just go to google and type in panic attacks. Plenty of information there.
For those of you who know what panic attacks are, and know any type of in depth information, can you guys give me some ideas on how to get rid of them? I know there’s a lot of “Pay now and do this course!” but i don’t know which ones really work and which ones don’t.
I already take meds…but they’re not helping too much, so I just got the dosage upped, but it’s not any better yet.
THANK YoU

What meds have you tried? klonopin works well, on the spot for panic attacks and it is not addicting. keep trying everything you can, don’t give up, something will work. good luck!
KLONOPIN IS NOT ADDICTING… CHECK THE FACTS! THE MAIN USE IS A SEIZURE MEDICATION~ I JUST ASKED THE DR I WORK FOR TO BE SURE AND HE SAID IT IS NOT ADDICTING AND WORKS VERY WELL FOR PANIC ATTACKS… YOU TAKE IT AS NEEDED NOT ON A REGULAR SCHEDULE, WHICH MAKES IT NICE……

klonopin is excellent for stopping panic attack also you need to be relaxed and eat a good breakfast every day if your diet is healthy you will end up laughing instead of having an attack :) trust me

I also get these totally irrational attacks and have been on various types of medication for last 20 years.Have you managed to isolate the main ‘trigger’ that brings them on? with me it’s travelling between 2 places…i’m ok when i leave and when i’m in there but getting out of my flat and actually travelling terrifies me.Please don’t waste money on courses because in my experience they’re a rip off!! Once you have found out your panic ‘trigger’ try arranging with a friend to ‘be there’ but only in the backround, and try and cope through it yourself..if you can manage to talk yourself through 1 attack it’s a brilliant achievement and the next 1 will be just as hard..but! if you can do it once you can try and do it again!!

Klonopin is a highly addictive drug that is very hard to get off and often causes worse panic-type problems in the end. Breathing into your cupped hands (NOT a paper bag) can increase CO2 blood levels – when you hyperventilate you ‘blow off’ too much CO2 making you feel even worse. A good natural anti-anxiety/sedative is magnesium – most people on the SAD diet are deficient. It takes a while to replete magnesium, so something like valerian might help in the meantime. Try a good few weeks on magnesium before thinking about dangerous and ultimately self-defeating drugs like Klonopin.
Some respiratory physiotherapists specialise in hyperventilation syndrome/panic attacks – see if there are any near you.

Ending panic attacks can be a bit of a challenge,,,
I would like to recommend a book for you though, it is a book
with the latest cutting edge techniques written by 3 clinicians.
You can do the techniques on your own. I do know some of them, and have used them with excellent results.
    The site is http://www.bmsa-int.com
The authors are very well respected, and the therapies are just awesome to say the least. I hope you will give it a try.

Panic attacks are sudden, discrete periods of intense anxiety, fear and discomfort that are associated with a variety of somatic and cognitive symptoms. The onset of these episodes is typically abrupt, and may have no obvious trigger. Although these episodes may appear random, they are considered to be a subset of an evolutionary response commonly referred to as fight or flight that occur out of context, flooding the body with hormones (particularly adrenalin) that aid in defending itself from harm. Experiencing a panic attack is said to be one of the most frightening and uncomfortable experiences of a person’s life.

    Medical treatment? No
It is generally believed that panic attack have to be treated by medication but this belief is absolutely wrong! You can be treated by many form of psychological treatment or there are some techniques that you can use to eliminate panic attack.
