Panic attack can be an extremely frightening experience. Suddenly, your hit by a barrage of symptoms, you may feel like having a heart attack, suffocating, or losing control. This experience can be so traumatizing and real that you will feel like dieing right at that moment.

Panic attack can strike anytime, anywhere and to anyone. It don’t even need a reason to hit you. Although excessive stress can trigger a panic attack, it is completely random for most of the time.

However, once you experienced the first panic attack, the body will be put on “alert” status and the chances of having another attack is increased. This becomes a problem if panic attack occur again and again.

An important contributor to the occurrence of further panic attacks is related to where the first one occurred. For most, it happens in a place where they cannot escape easily: for example, in a train, bus, taxi, elevator, building. For example, if the panic attack occurred during a bus ride, chance are, you would be quite nervous during your next bus ride as you think panic attack might hit you again. The more nervous you are, the more likely another panic attack will happen.

With your initial experience with panic attack, you will most probably try to escape before you feel the attack coming on. Once out of the bus, the panic feeling subside and your worst fear is confirmed. You associate bus ride to your panic attack. A few more experiences confirms this and you avoid taking a bus altogether.

What I have just explained is a typical example of the development of panic attack and it can be applied to any situation. You have a panic attack at a particular place or situation. You link it to that place or situation and avoid it.

The main culprit here is fear. The fear and anxiety of having a panic attack causes it to happen. Panic attack feeds on fear and anxiety. The more your fearful of it happening, the harder and faster it will hit you. In order to control a panic attack and stop it forever, you need to attack its roots – fear.

The most effective way to stop panic attack forever is to KNOW that you will not be harmed. A large part of the fear comes from the fact that the sufferer thinks he is about to die, which is totally untrue!

Here’s a few FACTS about panic attack:

-Panic attack CANNOT cause heart attack

-Panic attack CANNOT cause suffocation

-Panic attack CANNOT make you faint

-Panic attack CANNOT cause you to go mad/crazy

Doesn’t feel like it? But its true! There more than enough medical evidence to prove all these. The symptoms feel unnatural because its a panic response from the body, your not suppose to feel it unless your in danger – which your not! Panic attack is the result of this “panic alarm” going off for the wrong reason. Use this knowledge to your advantage, KNOW that you are safe and panic attack cannot harm you. Don’t fear panic attack…and certainly don’t fear having one!

Well, its 6:17 am and I fear going to sleep because I have this feeling I’m going to die( I know its related to panic disorder ). I drank about 4oz. of Rum a bud light and a 8 oz. cosmo mix drink. Shortly after I was feeling fine and had a good buzz going but as the night progressed, a panic arrack hit. I have only been back on my paxil 3 days. Disregarding the critiscm I deserve for knowing I should not mix the two, should I worry about dying in my sleep or am I being irrational?

If you’re searching for help for panic attacks you’re in luck… because panic attacks are the easiest anxiety disorder to treat. The reason you suffer from panic attacks is simply your body not processing fear and anxiety correctly. Once it gets to a certain point your mind will snap when it’s overtaken with anxiety. All you have to do to break the cycle of panic attacks is train your mind to correctly deal with stress and anxiety… that way you can stop panic attacks from ever happening again.

The problem with most people that are looking at help for panic attacks is that they do not truly understand how to stop them. These people have learned behaviors and habits to deal with anxiety… unfortunately these habits actually tend to cause panic. If you can break the cycle of anxiety you do not need expensive medications or hours in therapy.

One of the key things you have to do to stop panic attacks is to abruptly stop your brain from thinking negative thoughts. One way to do this simply is to interrupt your thought process. You can interrupt your thought process by doing something such as snapping a rubber band on your wrist or just saying “stop” out loud. When you do something like this it distracts you from your original thoughts and anxieties. As long as your thoughts go away from your panic and anxiety you should be safe from panic attacks.

Another thing that is helpful for panic attacks is to eliminate harmful substances from your life. If you’re constantly consuming alcohol, caffeine, or smoking cigarettes your body will find it impossible to maintain equilibrium.

When your body is out of balance it will send distress signals to your mind. These distress signals are often misinterpreted as anxiety… when this anxiety builds up to a certain point you can no longer take it… and before you know it you’re having a full-fledged panic attack.

Breathing correctly offers help offers help for panic attacks sufferers. When you are anxious on under a lot of stress your breathing patterns tend to be quick and shallow. When you do this for an extended amount of time you are robbing your mind and body of essential oxygen that it needs to function correctly.

When you’re concentrating on your breathing make sure you remember to take deep, long, relaxing breaths this will help for panic attacks. If you can consciously breathe like this all the time you will start to notice that you feel a lot more relaxed and comfortable in your skin. When you’re constantly relaxed it is almost impossible to experience panic attacks due to the fact that you cannot be both relaxed and anxious at the same time.

Are you concerned that anxiety or panic attacks may be ruining your life?

I used to struggle with anxious thoughts and panic attacks…all the time. Read how I stumbled upon a Free Report that changed my life forever.

I have been getting sleep panic attacks at sleepovers, mostly in double beds, but not in my house. Only once in my house in a double bed. And it is horrible. It has been going on for a few years and since I have finally discovered what it is exactly I think I need to tell my mum to cure it. But my mum and me don’t get on that well and it is Really difficult to tell her about my problem. I don’t know how to start it at all. The only chance I have is tonight or next Wednesday night because my dad is out so I can talk to my mum alone. So how can i tell her and how can i cure my problem? I’m basically scared of going to sleepovers now and even at my own house. I just want it cured! So please please help me. I’m 13 by the way.

Panic and anxiety attacks are problems that affect a large number of people. They can be somewhat scary but for most people they are relatively mild and don’t occur all that often. A panic attack may happen a few times, but it is usually not a chronic problem.

Panic disorders, on the other hand, can be much more severe. People who suffer from these disorders live in constant fear and anxiety, for ongoing periods of time.

The symptoms of isolated panic attacks and chronic disorder are much the same. A disorder is more difficult to deal with because part of what makes it worse is the constant worrying about when the next attack will come. This makes the attack that much more severe, and the viscious cycle continues to get worse.

Panic disorder needs to be treated as quickly as possible. If it isn’t treated properly, it will continue to escalate and can lead to a condition called agoraphobia, where the sufferer remains housebound because of their fear of having an attack while in public situations.

These panic disorders affect a wide age group. They can show up in the teenage years right through adulthood. Major stresses or changes in a person’s life can sometimes trigger them. The effects of panic can range from mild to very serious, in some cases causing social withdrawal and the earlier mentioned agoraphobia.

Symptoms of both panic attacks and panic disorders include the following:

- Chest pains
- Dizziness and/or lightheadedness
- Elevated heartbeat
- Shortness of breath
- Nausea and other stomach problems
- Shaking or trembling
- Difficulty breathing
- Tingling sensation in your extremeties

Panic disorders also often include the following symptoms:

- Lingering worry
- Fear of the next panic attack
- Depression
- Social withdrawal

While the symptoms of panic attacks and disorders are similar, the effect they can have on a person’s life is vastly different. In either case, however, it is best to discuss the problem with your doctor. They will be able to give you a more thorough diagnosis and prescribe the appropriate treatment plan.
